   If you are planning on attending the 3d Sqdn, 4th Cav Regt Chapter Reunion and Centaurs Tea and Crumpets Session in Nashville, TN, during the 16 – 20 May 2012 period, you need to make your reservations now.  I have received word that the hotel we will be at, the Millennium Maxwell House, is quickly running out of rooms set aside for the reunion.

   The Millennium Maxwell House has given us a room rate of $85.00 that is good for 3 days before and 3 days after the reunion.  You can contact the hotel by calling 1-615-259-4343 or 1-800-457-4460 and telling them you are with the 3d Sqdn, 4th Cav reunion.  Or you can used their website is at http://www.maxwellhousehotel.com and use the code 1206SQUADR.  Make your reservations now.  It won’t cost you anything until you get to the hotel.

   If the rooms that have been set aside are already booked, you can ask for one of the 10 Superior Rooms that have been set aside.  The rate for those rooms is $115.00.  The hotel will hold the rooms available until 14 Oct.  Or you can have the hotel put you on a waiting list in case someone has to cancel their reservation.

   As an alternative, the Chapter has made arrangements for rooms 25 rooms at the nearby Spring Hill Suites, 250 Athens Way.  You can call them at 1-615-244-5474.  Their web site is http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/bnasm-springhill-suites-nashville-metrocenter.   I am not sure what their room rates will be.

   If you have a recreational vehicle, you might want to consider joining with a several of us old Centaurs who will be staying at the Two Rivers Campground, 2616 Music Valley Drive, in Nashville.  The campground is about a 15 minute drive to the reunion hotel.  You can get information about Two Rivers at http://www.tworiverscampground.com.

   History trivia.  When Troop F (Air), 4th Cavalry was activated on 13 February 1971, it was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division.  The troop remained assigned to the 25th Inf Div until the troop was inactivated in January 1973.  During the troops time in Vietnam, it was only attached to the various aviation groups it worked for.
